Yep. St Petersburg was the capital of the Russian Empire. Moscow was the capital of the Soviet Union. They can always move the capital further inland to Yekaterinberg or Novosbirsk.

Or... and hear me out, I know it sounds crazy... Russia's government could stop acting in such a way that its neighbors won't feel the need to protect themselves by joining alliances like NATO.

@Ryuu96: I guess it's early still, but it's starting to look like Putin seriously fucked up on this one. His troops are already starving and cold, and it's becoming more clear that at least some of them didn't understand what they were getting into. They clearly weren't expecting the Ukrainians to be so tenacious, especially President Zelensky himself. Hungry soldiers tend to not be loyal soldiers.

A good ending to this war would be Vladimir Putin either swinging from a gallows or blindfolded in front of a firing squad.

Yeah, it's still too early but it does look like Putin massively fucked up, Russia is loosing way more troops than expected, Ukraine is putting up a much stronger fight than expected, Russian morale is decreasing, they lied to their own troops, the financial costs are likely huge, expectations were that Russia would have Kyiv and air superiority by now, they're making a lot of what appears to be tactically stupid decisions.

But Putin still has an absolutely gigantic army to throw at Ukraine, question is how long can he get away with throwing his troops to their death, I also still fear what he will do if he can't take it by conventional measures, indiscriminately bomb the city?

One of the worst fears is that Putin may deploy a FOAB (Father of all bombs). For anyone who doesn't know, a FOAB is a bomb with a yield of approximately 44 tons of TNT. The bad thing about this bomb is that it's a very powerful conventional explosive - meaning that it can do great damage without contaminating the environment with radiation, which removes a lot of the deterrent for using such a powerful explosive. The US has an equivalent bomb called a MOAB (Mother of all bombs).
