3ds is the only way to play 3ds games.. if a ps4 owners ps4 breaks.. He will more likely buy a PS5 (or sign up in some shop and wait for stock)

3DS outsold the PS4 by over 2.5 in its lifetime. Makes sense to sell more still, especially with stock problems.

But 3ds is discontinue while ps4 is not
