You can record bits of your performance with the PS Eye and upload it to the community where they watch it and rate you, similar to YouTube, I guess. If I remember correctly, you can record video/audio or just audio, I only watched someone play it once, though, so there might be more I'm missing. It's the part where you watch and rate other people's stuff I'd be wary of. I didn't see anything X-rated or anything, but I did see a dude having liqueur poured in his mouth and some people improvise with more colorful lyrics.
Some of it is somewhat funny, for you and the wife, maybe, but probably not cool for a 10-year old.
edit: I don't mean to down it. It's a really cool feature.
