It's standalone, everything is packed into headset (including mic and speakers) - IMO this makes it a portable VR console - you just define play area where you want and you're good to go.
You can, if you like, connect it to PC, either via cable or wifi, and stream PC VR games to it. So basically, it acts as both standalone VR and accessory for PC VR.
