JRPG recommendations?

Thank you for all the recommendations! It definitely seems like Final Fantasy is a good place to start and I'll work my way from there :)

I got a lot of advertisements on Steam's Winter Sale for Scarlet Nexus. Is that any good? I did see Tales of Arise won Best RPG at the Game Awards this year, so I'm also thinking of giving that a shot since both are made by Bandai Namco, although combat for both games look very similar lol
