They really shouldn't, the next movie will probably bomb even compared to this. It was the first matrix movie in 20 years so of course it was going to get a lot of attention, but now that it's come out and a lot of people are disappointed in it, if they release another it almost certainly will do worse. I'm absolutley amazed they had a budget of $190 million for this, because it didn't feel like a high-budget film at all.
I had a lot of hope for Resurrections before watching it, now I have zero interest in the franchise being continued.
