You do know mediocre and pile of shit are two different things, right, so which is it?

But I agree, it's a retread of the first movie that pisses all over the lore. When I can point and the screen and tell you exactly what's gonna be said and/or done at pretty much any given moment, not only did you done fucked it up to quote AJ, you're not even trying. I get that they *have* to reuse certain elements from the OT, especially the first film for the sake of this reboot (I mean that both figuratively and literally), but there's a reason people generally don't like shot-for-shot remakes of classic films and this film was barely even trying to be original.

Add to that the convoluted plot (for starters, there's literally zero reason for Smith to be brought back, and that new actor didn't portray Smith at all, so why even call him Smith absent of any logic for "him" to be "back" in the first place? Why not just make him a whole new badass Agent of the new trilogy for Trinity and Neo to fight? That's what he came across as, anyway) that immediately removed all the stakes as soon as the not-really-spoiler happened and shoddy fight choreography, and I'm almost tempted to say I liked Revolutions better... almost.

I read that one of the reason/s was that Hugo Weaving was supposed to be in it but Lana couldn't work around his schedule so they dropped him.

But yeah I rewatched The Matrix to scrub my eyes of this mess. Thank god they aren't making any more.
