Death Stranding is a bit of cheating here, because it doesn't really make fast travel very convenient. I also can't think of any really fitting examples, but I've got to mention newer Assassin's Creed games: They made me doubt fast travel when I was travelling relatively short distances because fast travel can take a while in those games (in the form of loading, of course). In practice, I chose to walk/ride distances I would have fast travelled in games where fast travel is quicker. I think Final Fantasy XV was similar in this regard. I don't play a lot of open world games, so it's possible this kind of thing is very common these days in open world games, but to me, it's not so maybe it's worth mentioning.
