The PS5/XSX outperformed there predecessors until now, but due to the horrific stock situation they just can't possibly meet the demands of a holiday season. Neither PlayStation or MS are in a position where they can supply enough to hit almost 1m weeks. PS5 will undoubtedly suffer the most against the PS4's terrific first holiday sales. All PS5 can hope to do is keep the damage as low as possible but it will be high, and attempt to recover the lost ground this holiday in the next year... and hope there isn't a repeat in Holiday 2022.

Xbox Series continues to be outsold by it's predecessors, both XBO and 360 sold more in their equivalent weeks. But thankfully Xbox Series has built a substantial lead over the XBO so will have no trouble staying ahead even if the gap is shrinking.
