I told you why MS has that contract rule and its not going away any time soon. Basically MS was sued because they had contractors working at MS for a very long time, think of a decade in some cases. They did not provide contractors with benefit as full time employees which is why they hire contractors. Well MS lost that case and was forced to pay benefits for contractors if they were employed for a certain length of time. Now usually most contractors can get around this if they are employed by an agency which does pay the contractors benefits but most game developer contractors just get hired on direct. MS as a business hire a huge number of contractors and they put that policy in place because just like any big corporation, money trumps all. I believe that because of the court case MS lost, they cannot rehire that contractor for a certain length of time or pay benefits for that person.
