Until a couple of weeks ago, I would probably have been strongly in the camp that running the games on your local device is better. But, I playes Destiny 2 via XCloud streaming a couple of weeks ago, and I found it to be just as good and experience as running on my Series X. Now, it should be noted that I did not play any PvP content. Obviously, even tiny bits of lag in PvP could cause big problems. But, in terms of the PvE content that I played, I found the experience to be great. This is just one example. But, it's the only game that I have extensive experience in running on my local device that I have also tried via the cloud. So it's my only basis for comparison. Based on that experience, I am very optimistic about cloud gaming.
There certainly are some aspects of cloud gaming that are not currently equal to running games locally. But, I think the potential is there even now, and will be even more so over the next several years.
