ToS2 will probably have better legs though... and end up outselling ToS.

Ken - The only issue with that logic is assuming ToS2 isn't an RPG, which it is
It's very rare for any RPG to have great legs, as they tend to be very frontloaded. I did a report not too long ago on all PS2 RPGs released, and the average sales of their first week vs. LTD.
It was very rare that any, and I mean any, RPG saw an equal amount of sales over the rest of it's lifetime versus the first week.
A few numbers for you, via Japan-Gamecharts.com (numbers based off Famitsu actuals), of RPGs with sales between 125k and 175k first week, for various last, and current-gen systems...With a few others for relevancy and context.
| Sys. | Game | First Week | LTD | Ratio |
| Wii | Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn | 73,337 | 171,924 | 42.66% |
| PS2 | Kingdom Hearts: FM | 163,668 | 358,130 | 45.70% |
| PS2 | Dawn of Mana | 169,031 | 340,878 | 49.59% |
| PS2 | Suikoden IV | 179,893 | 311,815 | 57.69% |
| PS2 | Radiata Stories | 190,473 | 293,413 | 64.92% |
| PS2 | Wild Arms 3 | 156,997 | 273,318 | 57.44% |
| PS2 | SMT: Nocturne | 151,203 | 245,520 | 61.58% |
| GC | Tales of Symphonia | 183,527 | 322,779 | 56.86% |
| GC | Final Fantasy: CC | 191,602 | 355,470 | 53.70% |
Now, this list isn't exaustive, nor contain relevant data such as:
- Other Tales Games (aside from ToS on GC, all are >60% for their FW ratio)
- Non-Sequels (some did rather well for being new IPs, but ToS2 isn't)
- 2 Gen-Ago Titles (irrelevant, IMO)
And I threw in a few higher ones for comparison, such as Radiata Stories. At any rate, I'd think that ToS2 will probably have a 1st week to LTD ratio of around 55-60% considering everything. That would put sales anywhere between 250,000 (60% LTD) to 272,000 (60% LTD). However, it could be even higher, and be 65% which is a rough median for Tales games, which would put sales at 230,000 LTD.
Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
