Wolverine isn't a household "gaming" name, not the kind of surprise annoucement I was dying for, but you're right that it's a highlight, hence I praised Insomniac. I understand all the excitement from Marvel and Insomniac fans and am looking forward to it myself, but it isn't coming anytime before 2024 and the IP doesn't ring the same in my old-gamer ear as countless classic gaming IP's. I know I'm letting my subjectivity bleed in, but there is a difference between a beloved "gaming IP" being revived and a "comics IP" being adopted. Countless Marvel superheroes are getting adopted left and right everywhere; doesn't pack as much punch among core gamers as Metal Gear being remade, Silent Hill rebooted, or Bloodborne getting a sequel. |
If it is a stablished gaming name nothing would really surprise us since it would be a very expected sequel.
Games returning after a very long time wouldn`t qualify as household as well since well if they were they wouldn`t be discontinued for several gens.
I understand your point, as I would love to see syphon filter, BraLoD would love another LoD, etc. Perhaps it was just your phrasing that was little strange to me.
