Sony has not been secretive about their need for profitability. Also, their estimates for sales this year were very conservative.
This leads me to believe they are not going to be interested in a price cut any time soon unless sales completely tank. Which, I don't think will happen because the Sony brand name is so strong in the video game market and blu-ray won the HD media format war.
That said, 360 sales should look solid for the rest of the year, and forum threads like this will keep marching on in a seesaw battle as nothing will be resolved by the end of '08. Wii will still be in front, 360 and PS3 will still be fighting to see who will be second on a weekly basis and the world will keep on turning.
