It's a pretty consistent pattern that with something like sex work the more you try to prohibit it the more you drive it underground and make it less safe for both workers and consumers, while doing basically nothing to actually prevent it.
Onlyfans was a lifeline for countless sex workers during the pandemic, it kept food on the table and paid their rent while keeping them safe.
Now that lifeline is being cut from the very people who played a key role in making OnlyFans such a success. Nobody really wins here, the site will plummet in popularity while sex workers will lose a platform that gave them income, autonomy, and safety.
