I don’t know about rape and pornography, but it would be interesting to look at the numbers you brought up and dissect them. Maybe rape has gone up because population has increased magnificently? Genuinely curious. Also the definition of what is considered rape has changed, hasn’t it? It wouldn’t surprise me if rape in the past was a much bigger issue. Again, talking out of my ass here, but I am on a hurry and a in-depth look at the numbers would help.

I honestly don’t know about rape statistics, but the general theme in this thread has been “porn consumption has increase, so mental health issues and rape. A connection must be there!”…. No?

Well, porn got a lot more accessible since the 1980s (VHS) and further more accessible since the internet got popular (1990s).

"Over the last four decades, rape has been declining. According to the National Crime Victimization Survey, the adjusted annual per-capita victimization rate of rape has declined from about 2.4 per 1000 people (age 12 and above) in 1980 (that is, 2.4 persons from each 1000 people 12 and older were raped in 1980) to about 0.4 per 1000 people in 2003, a decline of about 85%. There are several possible explanations for this, including stricter laws and education on security for women."

Is the number of unreported cases multiple times of that?

Sure, but it also was in the 1970s and earlier, in the good ol' porn-free days.
