I can go as far as spending 10-15% (sometimes 20-25%) of my wage every month only with games and I, at best, buy 3 games a month (if it's a Nintendo physical game, then it's only one for a month). I can do this because I live with my grandfather and don't have wife or kids, once I start living all by myself I will need to stop gaming for a while (I will need to buy furniture instead of electronics like consoles) or just playing free games (have done that before when I was a teenager), I'm not really tempted to go back to piracy now I'm grown ass man

Late last year I spent almost $10,000 on new console hardware (Playstation 5+Xbox Series X), PC and video games in just a month.

Baffles my mind how people need to do such stringent budgeting to afford a single game...

You've just spent my yearly wage in a month haha. But that's alright, you don't need to feel pity I live a comfortable life really and I'm young just started my work life. I can enjoy almost all my hobbies even if I can't afford a ultra high quality PC, but sadly most people just can't game here unless it's free to play or it's piracy

Things used to be better, our currency used to be 65% of a dollar 10 years ago, now it's about 18%, this makes anything sold with dollar price staggering overpriced and our very high taxes are just the cherry on top
