I voted for 300mm, but I really have no idea. Who knows whether there will be a sequel? Also, it is mostly played by kids, and kids are particularly fickle. So, sales could drop like a brick if Minecraft becomes uncool.

Sales would need to drop off a cliff to only reach 300m Tbh. It has been doing easy 20m+ a year recently and shows no signs of slowing down. I don't think they'll ever do a sequel either, both Microsoft and especially Mojang, seem against the idea, there is zero reason to even consider doing a sequel yet given how massively popular Minecraft still is and I'm not even sure what they could do for a sequel what they couldn't do with the current game.

I do disagree that it is mostly played by kids too, well, I'm sure kids are a huge part of their audience but Minecraft also has a huge teen-adult player-base, according to Mojang the average age of Minecraft players is 24 years old, it's popular with everyone.

Just whipped up this quick chart too to show its growth.

Just an FYI for the OP, this number was actually reported back in April.

Oh right, only saw it yesterday on the Wiki page for best selling video games though. But thanks.

That also means 38M in 11 months. Looks like it's biggest year yet.
