So people are viewing the Deck as direct competition, despite it being obvious Deck and Switch will be two drastically different demographics of gamers.

The key word being some people, not everyone.

I don't see it as direct competition, because I fully understood what the devs at Valve said the damn thing was, a mini PC, not a console, thus it's going to be viewed by me as a PC and not a console, thus not in direct competition.
