The gap between what Third Parties were able to achieve prior to 2021 and this year now shrinks to below 3 million
We have Yu-Gi-Oh, Ace Attorney Chronicles, Shin Megami Tensei V, Super Robot Wars 30, Kakarot, as games that should surpass 100K so far confirmed for the rest of the year,
Overall my expectations for the rest of the year are like this:
2.75M+ - Monster Hunter Rise(Capcom)
1.5M+ - Momotaro(Konami)
500K+ - Minecraft(Microsoft), Shin Megami Tensei V(Atlus), Yu-Gi-Oh(Konami)
400K+ - Olive Town(Marvelous)
300K+ - Monster Hunter Stories 2(Capcom), Crayon Shin-chan(Neos)
200K+ - Bravely Default II(Square Enix), Baseball Spirits(Konami)
150K+ - Rune Factory 5(Marvelous), Fitness Boxing 2(Imagineer), Dragon Quest XI S(Square Enix), Little Nightmares II(Bandai Namco), Human Fall Flat(Teyon Japan), Sakuna(Marvelous), Age of Calamity(Koei Tecmo)
100K+ - Ace Attorney Chronicles(Square Enix), Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot(Bandai Namco), Super Robot Wars 30(Bandai Namco), Samurai Warriors 5 (Koei Tecmo), Fishing Spirits(Bandai Namco), Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum 'n' Fun!(Bandai Namco), Puyo Puyo Tetris 2(Sega), Minecraft Dungeons(Microsoft)
If these predictions end up close to reality, we are looking at over 8.5 million software from Third Parties just within the Top 20 games this year. This is a massive amount of sales across many different publishers. It also doesn't take into account digital sales which for some titles are considerable.
Also it's not really taking into account what I believe are at least half a dozen titles yet to be revealed which will after September and might be able to leave a mark of the year. With TGS taking place at the end of September, I anticipate a direct that will reveal the release dates a few more titles for the fall from third parties.
