I already mention the reason. Its a game rumored to be on gamepass. So the higher sales on PlayStation at start its just that. Xbox gamers waiting to hear its coming and buing it later when told it wasent. Preorders does not create demand. If those xbox gamers where gona play the game buying at launch or later they will get the game. What would be illogical is that that trend continues and then just passing the PlayStation. But all is doing is ending up where the 2 to 1 rate said it would be. |
These ~80:20 splits at retail have been a thing for years, long before AAA games were even thought to launch in Game Pass.
Also what rumors had RE8 as a Game Pass title? If anything people thought it couldn't be because it was before launch that the news Sony BLOCKED the game from being a GP title came out https://gamerant.com/resident-evil-village-xbox-game-pass-sony-deal/
It's also interesting how at retail the splits go 80:20, but when digital is added the splits swing towards Xbox. Do you believe every single Japanese game just magically sells more on Xbox after week 1?
Does this make sense to you, because you are arguing for this to be the case in order for digital to have no impact on the splits.
Week 1 - ~50K
PS: 40K
XB: 10K
Week 2 - ~20K
PS: 9K
XB: 11K
Week 3 - ~8K
PS: 3K
XB: 5K
Week 4 - ~5K
PS: 2K
XB: 3K
When has that ever happened.
Never. Digital is simply much higher on Xbox, by +10-20 points.
Won bet with t3mporary_126 - I correctly predicted that the Wii U's LTD at the end of 2014 would be closer to 9 million than 10 million. http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=6673287
