I have no idea which was best. I only watched the Nintendo bits.

The Treehouse stuff was actually fairly good, but it could have been better. I’m usually not disappointed by the treehouse stuff, but this time I was. Only 10 minutes of WarioWare, and they only did a tiny bit of the solo-campaign. Most of the fun in Smooth Moves was the 8-player. They kept avoiding “showing too much” which was really dumb in my opinion - if you want to sell people on the game, don’t hide why it’s fun: it’s WarioWare, it’s not like Aeris is dying in it or anything. I understand the “it’s fun experiencing the game for the first time” - well, it’s not if they aren’t playing it because you failed to show people why they should buy it. It’s much more fun to see how other people react to the continent, anyway.

The E3 Direct, however, was mediocre bits mixed with utter trash, in my opinion - most content was very rushed. They didn’t say anything about the games. It felt like a half an hour+ of annoying TV advertisements. Even if there were games I might like, how the fuck am I supposed to know from watching that? The clips were mostly 30 seconds of “not in game footage” - if we’re lucky, we got a minute of a game, but everything is chopped up into 2 second clips devoid of context and explanation. Nothing that made these games look exceptional, unique, or fun.

Unless it was something I was already familiar with, it was a meaningless clip show. Honestly, I’d have been more enthusiastic if Nintendo just strung together all the trailers from the next 2 weeks of releases in the EShop and had someone read the description text.

Of all that trash, of the stuff I wasn’t already familiar with, only Life is Strange and that Sega University Management game even remotely interested me. And some of the pre-announced stuff like Mario Golf and BotW2 I’m even less interested in than I was before.

If I was completely unfamiliar with Nintendo, I probably wouldn’t have given half a shit about anything I saw. It makes me surprised that Nintendo is winning the poll. I guess it’s a competition of who’s the least shitty.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.
