Thanks to Media Create Top 1000 for Japan and South Korea/Taiwan data which we got thanks to Chris, we can see that the overall software situation in Asia for the PS5 is far from rosy at the moment
Considering that at the moment sales on the PS4/PS5 in Japan for this year are likely below 500K I can see a situation where sales on the PS4/PS5 fail to surpass 2 million units for the year which would mean a decline of over 5 million units YoY. If a similar trend is observed in South Korea & Taiwan we can definitely say that there is a divergence between East and West in terms of dedicated video game market. Considering China is fast become the biggest growth opportunity for video game makers, this might be giving us hints about what the Chinese market will look like in the coming years as culturally it's closer to Japan/South Korea/Taiwan than the West.
Also if you are an Asian video game maker and aren't making Switch part of your strategy you are missing a big opportunity.
