Miitopia is actually looking pretty good at this point. Last week Rune Factory 5 debuted at #1 and Miitopia debuted at #2. This week Miitopia is at #1 and RF5 fell to fifth place with a huge 87% drop. Looks like Miitopia is going to outsell it in the long run in spite of RF5's strong debut.
Switch just reached 20m and it's sales are still increasing YoY overall. Think about that. Sales are not even slowing down yet. A system usually peaks around the time it gets to roughly half of its sales. (I.e. about 1/2 of sales on its way up and about 1/2 coming down.) Switch still hasn't peaked. That means 40m is a pretty decent estimate for Switch's lifetime in Japan. In fact, it might go significantly above 40m, because Switch still hasn't peaked yet. At this point who knows how far it can go?
