Estimates for the US also puts them closer to 900,000 deaths instead of the official 600,000. Looking at excess deaths doesn't paint the whole picture either as for example the yearly deaths from the flu has plummeted thanks to all the extra measures.

Here we're finally making good progress beating the third wave down. Thus talks about early re-opening are back on of course, yet schools will stay closed for the rest of the school year. At least today they will lol. It's 4 more weeks until summer holiday starts here. My kids won't have seen the inside of the school building for 18 months when they go back in September. They've been home since March break 2020.
