They slated Switch was entering it's midlife last year, i highly doubt they will release the Pro as a "successor" a year or so after that statement they actually said like 3 times. Some sources said It appears that they might give up the regular model after a year or 2 to focus on the revision. But i doubt they would give up on the potential to sell the original Switch model at a much lower cost to attract the more budgetary audience. Which let's be real, i'm sure the Switch could be sold at 200$ right now and they would still profit. It is 4 years old and in mass production and they had a profit from the start on each units. I do think they might give it a price cut this year, you don't have to wait till the sales are down to act on it. Reducing the price before hand would make sure the momentum doesn't slow down.

I do think if they release a pro model this year, then a price drop for both the lite and og are mandatory. I can't see them selling the revision to more than 350$... maybe it will end up being 399 but i highly doubt they will venture there knowing this is the price of a PS5 digital edition and 100$ higher than a Series S. And so with 350$, the OG cannot coexist at it's original price, it would be literally pointless. So i expect a price cut for the OG to 250$, and Switch lite to 175$ or 150$ if they feel bold.

If NSW pro is near as powerful as a PS4 pro/similar then they definitely can sell it for $400 while keeping the price for the other 2 systems. If a pro doesn’t release this year, NSW is still going to ship over 25mil this year, you don’t cut the price off the next model which hardcore fans and better tech want. NSW is sold out, $400 would target another audience that isn’t crossing over the consumers who are going to purchase the 200/300 sku systems. In fact OG >>> Lite despite the 100 difference.

......

OG outperforms the lite because it has the main experience the Switch is loved for, being hybrid. So that 100$ difference is worth it. But with the pro, maybe you're right idk.. but they really would not anticipate to sell a lot of them if they really just release it at 400$ cause that's 100$ more than launch price for the Switch. Nintendo likes to be aggressive with pricing most times, and i don't see how they would not do some profits even at 350$.

Maybe they won't cut the price off, but to me that would make sure they keep the momentum going strong. You don't need to start having a rough year before cutting your price, it's even that way you lose momentum and can't bring it back up. I don't think it will be a good idea to keep the original price and release a pro at 400$ when you have next gen starting to show off their guns. They should cut the price while the Switch is still hot, so like this summer.
