there is plenty of 8th gen games I quite love, but is not even close to the 7th gen in terms of quantity of really good games, I think is also a factor that some of the games I really love from the 8th gen are just a perfection of a game from the previous gen so is hard to give it the full merit, like with Tropical Freeze or Xenoblade X. I also have all the home consoles and the DS from that gen, didn't really care for the PS4 or Xbox One and by the time they had some neat games I already had a PC good enough to run the handful that I was interested in.
7th gen was also the small period of time where Dead Rising was good, Atelier reached its peak with Arland and Dusk, and Tales of had its last excellent game with Vesperia.
