So it sounds like this will be small revision with a more efficient chip-set and passive cooling. With Warhol rumored to be incoming this is good time to release a new board.

Update from the article -

Update: Moore’s Law is Dead claims that the S stands for ‘Silent’, which implies that those boards will rely on passive cooling:

I'd be curious as to what the difference will be as the Dark Hero is already passive cooling. Granted it's a $400 mobo but I doubt there's anything very care worthy in terms of actual cooling in the Mobo. Still, it will be interesting.

Kinda lame that Zen 3+ won't be happening. I do still suspect they might do a special XT version at the very least like they did last year with the 3000 series.

Well, Zen+ was only a thing because AMD needed to push Ryzen out the door as soon as possible, meaning not everything was fully working and thus some parts were deactivated until further notice. That further notice was Zen+, which is when the chip was finally fully activated.

The server variants were already fully activated and thus never had a Zen+ version since they basically all were selected from the start to be able to run the things the early desktop variants needed to have turned off to work properly. In other words, they were Zen+ before Zen+.

I do agree that AMD will make some filler based on Zen3 (OEMs will pretty much oblige them to), but this will probably only be a small speedbump
