Meh. This is just a clickbait article.

There are some people on ebay who will always stupidly overprice things in a stupid get rich scheme. But, if you look at what prices people are actually paying in auctions that ended recently on eBay, they sold for somewhere between 40-60 bucks. Generally people are taking a loss on selling this. You can still buy this on Amazon, Target, Gamestop, Best Buy etc for 60 bucks. If the scalpers had two brain cells to rub together, they'd realize that Nintendo didn't go out and destroy every copy sitting on store shelves, and they should at least wait until they sell through those.

It's basic common sense. 3D All Stars was a "limited edition" but it wasn't hard to get. Who are these people who are big enough fans that they would pay thousands of dollars for this but didn't just buy it when it was available? And even if you buy the Switch a year from now, there's enough used copies in circulation, that you're going to be fine. Maybe somewhere down the line there'll be a collector who just needs to have a sealed copy of 3D All Stars for their collection, but since tons of people bought this game to resell it, it's actually probably going to be less valuable than most Switch games.

Hate to burst anyone's bubble, but if you invested your retirement account in Mario All Stars, you probably invested poorly.

That's True, you still can get used copies from 40 to 60 and New ones from 50+ to 60+.

...And about the past comments, both are the problem, scalpers and stupid people that throw money for overpriced articles.

Right now the high priced copies are just people losing their time and getting more atention that what it should be.

I'm generally not too concerned about scalpers particularly when it's a a purely luxury item. If someone really needs a sealed copy of Mario 3D all stars and the market determines that's a fair price, then whatever.

If it's something where there's legitimate scarcity like the PS5, that's far more annoying, but still ultimately that's a problem for the industry to resolve. Unless we're talking about things like food, water, and medicine, it's not a major concern to me.
