Even with Xbox games on PC day 1 the console is still tracking well by comparison. Considering they launched with essentially Gears Tactics and EA Play being added to Game Pass, this bodes very well for the gen. Positive PR, competitive pricing and this is before their massive wave of 1st party coming. Very exciting to see what happens this fall. |
Yeah, that's seomthing we don't take into account but it's important. When the Xbox One launched, all of its games were assumed to be launching only on it - just like with the Xbox and the 360 - , which surely made some people buy the Xbox One at first instead of building a PC or whatever, but with the Series X and S the market knows right from the start that its games will be on PC too and even on phones and Smart TVs via xCloud. But even with that, the Series X and S are still selling much better than the Xbox One. I think that's actually very impressive, because it means these two consoles are attracting new users to the Xbox console ecosystem. This is probably caused by a combo of launching in more countries, having Xbox All Access in 12 countries, Game Pass, the low price of the Series S and the acquisition of Bethesda.
