With even Capcom throwing their hat into the ring big time with Monster Hunter Rise, Monster Hunter Stories 2, Ghosts 'n' Goblins Resurrection, and apparently a new RE game, it's about time for some Japanese thirds to pull their head out of their behinds. It really does feel like blind brand loyalty at this point more than any objective business sense.

If Capcom has 5 games for this year. Congratulations Capcom for the late, but good, support.

Well, three. Monster Hunter Rise, Ghosts 'n' Goblins, and Monster Hunter Stories 2 this year, Resident Evil early next year apparently. But yeah, it's a huge step up for them after nearly 4 years of dusty old ports.

So most third-parties, with the exception of Konami, decreased to some of their lowest numbers (or their lowest) in 2020, while Nintendo reached their peak. The case of Level 5 is particularly tragic.

That's what happens when you stupidly cling to a declining brand and ignore the platform that holds a near-monopoly over the country.
