How do you think computers monitors have been able to work in high defintion all these years without hdmi ?

It always amazes me to see how the sony's marketing machine is powerful. Kudos to them for that.

To be fair, component doesn't always support 1080p, but it's not due to technical reasons. It's due to legal reasons with DRM, since component cables don't support DRM (HDCP).
