assuming it wasn't a hostile takeover and a deal both parties agreed to, ie; ubisoft wanted to be bought and accepted Amazon's offer, like w Bethesda and Microsoft, then i'd say good for them and maybe they'll make a game that appeals to me enough to eventually consider giving Luna a try.

too many people constantly act like they know what's best for companies instead of the people who actually work there. it's a business, and they're usually going to choose what they think is in the best interest of their company, they don't owe us anything. so if Ubisoft were to agree to be acquired by Amazon I think it would be a fair assumption that they thought about what the pros, cons, risks, etc are. they're not just gonna do it overnight.

I'd disagree with that. They think about what's in their own best interests. When it comes to selling a company, if they make bank from it they'd do it even if they think the company is going to be worse off in the long run. Once they've sold it they have no reason to give a shit how the company does anymore. That would be different if the people owning/running the company stay there after the sale (as is usually the case with smaller developers), but for a big publicly owned corporation like Ubisoft, that wouldn't be the case.

that's true, but that's always a possibility with any business regardless, acquisition or otherwise. that's why I wrote usually because I guess i'm just trying to be optimistic and hope that if a situation like this would ever happen that the people selling would be decent about it and make sure things would be okay still afterwards, but yeah I guess it can easily go both ways since like you said the people selling don't need to care at all anymore

i also don't think this is something we'll have to worry about with Ubisoft anytime soon anyway given how long they spent just finally fighting off Vivendi, so I can't imagine they're actively looking to be bought after that
