Not in Japan. The DQ series is insanely popular in Japan, significantly above FF. DQ VIII sold almost as many copies as FF XII worldwide, despite selling basically nothing outside of Japan. 2.25M copies in one week for DQ VIII in Japan is ridiculous, and I can't even imagine how many copies the next one will sell on the DS. 5 million first week in Japan? I honestly wouldn't rule it out.
The dedication you show to any particular console or company is inversely proportional to the number of times you have gotten laid. If you get laid enough, even if you prefer a certain brand, you just don't give enough of a shit to argue about it on the internet.
