Harden should have repeated as MVP since his scoring numbers where historical. Anyway the Lakers are better then they where last season so they will actually repeat easily I'm saying it now already whoever comes out of the east they will dispose in the finals in five games or less. |
Bruh, this ain't 2002. We don't merely look at big numbers and hand out crowns to whomever has them. Giannis had a better per-36 scoring average than Harden last year. The only reason Harden scored more points is because he played 566 more minutes. I'd mention all of the other stats that Giannis owned Harden in, but I don't have all day, and you wouldn't read them anyway.
But since you say "historical", how many players in the history of the league have ever won both MVP and DPOY? Besides the Greak Freek, two: Hakeem Olujawon about 27 years ago, and Michael Jordan.
The fact that Giannis was even in the discussion for DPOY (something that Harden won't even get in the top 100 of for his position, ever) tells you a lot more about his MVP candidacy than "played a lot of minutes at high usage, chucked a lot of shots and got to the line a million times".
Congratulations on beating me this past weekend. You're as great an NFL predictor as you are a horrible an NBA predictor. ;)
If you want to continue this conversation - and I don't get why, because you either completely ignore stats and factual evidence, base your entire logic on the West being the superior conference, or just ignore me altogether - then please quote me and paste it to an appropriate NBA thread so we don't keep going off topic in here.
