I guess where I differ with Pokemon S/S is judging based on the game it was intended to be. It was never intended to be an ultra hardcore highly strategic adult game. Pokemon S/S is kid friendly, with kids being their main target audience. And for youngers kids the game is really good. My kids enjoyed the heck out of it. To me most of the criticisms of Pokemon S/S are silly. That would be like me giving Sesame Street 1/10 because it doesn't have blood, drugs, nudity and lacks foul language.

Being kid friendly doesn't justify lazy map design and a mandatory exp share usage. Doesn't justify the very strange decision on putting any Pokemon in a wild area to get easier to catch them

Neither remove all post game content to sell as DLC

Neither make the smallest story mod of all mainline games

Besides, we still having the competitive side. Why destroy competitive just to put a new dumb gimmick like Dynamax?

It's called laziness

*shrugs*

My kids loved it, in particular they loved the EXP share, given they don't have interest in grinding.  Dynamax was a huge hit for them as well.  As stated previously the game isn't aimed for hardcore gamers, it is aimed at kids.  Put yourself in their shoes and evaluate the game.  My point on Sesame Street stands.

I use Pokemon S/S as an example when people discuss Last 2, because both are in the same boat.  A large group of 'hardcore' gamers decided the game was trash before it was even released, many never played it, and many never played it with an open mind.  Both are subject to overly harsh criticism, neither are remotely close to being a 1/10.  A 1/10 is for something that is completely broken and utterly unplayable.  Neither S/S or Last 2 fit this description.

Fact is Pokemon S/S stands at a 80/100 via Metacritic, with the lowest critic score being a 6/10.  Meanwhile the user average is a 4.6/10...  like I said, similar to the blind hate Last 2 is getting.
