We have a VGChartz poll of the 'day', which has admittedly been around for a while. It asks, "Which of these will be the top seller of 2008 world wide?"
| Grand Theft Auto IV (PS3) | 1,392 | 11.21% | |
| Grand Theft Auto IV (Xbox360) | 3,045 | 24.52% | |
| Mario Kart Wii (Wii) | 869 | 7.00% | |
| Metal Gear Solid 4 (PS3) | 3,247 | 26.15% | |
| Super Smash Bros Brawl (Wii) | 1,732 | 13.95% | |
| Wii Fit (Wii) | 2,133 | 17.18% |
Let's look at the current numbers for the leaders:
Mario Kart is currently the leader and will take the year easily. However, more people are voting for GTA 4 PS3. Is that some kind of sick joke? Is the VGChartz community crazy?
Look at MGS 4 -- a game with virtually no chance of that title is listed with the highest percentage. It's going to be dead last, and shouldn't even be on that list.
It seems to me like Sony is getting undue credit and Nintendo is getting completely ignored. Nintendo is virtually assured to have the top title world wide in 2008, and possibly the top 3 titles world wide. The title that will likely win has the lowest vote total by far.
