Now if the XBOX X/S is selling like shit here due to running out of stock, there Microsoft need to step up their game and produce more consoles. Their ability to supply is what may just hinder them this gen if Sony can continue to out produce them 3 to 1.

From what I've heard, Xbox production was delayed because they had to wait until late summer to get their chipsets from AMD, whereas Sony got their chipsets faster it seems. So Sony had like a 2 month headstart on manufacturing. That seems to have really hurt MS, their worldwide launch week was only around half of PS5's worldwide launch, even though Xbox Series is selling out in almost all of the 40 launch markets; they simply don't have anywhere near enough stock to meet demand. They definitely need to ramp up production asap, as things currently stand MS is suggesting that Xbox Series could be selling out until March or April, which would seem to indicate that they only have the ability to manufacture maybe a few hundred thousand units per month currently. They really need to get more production lines open for Xbox Series asap, Xbox One sold 1.5m in December 2013,  it will look bad for MS if Xbox Series doesn't top that December number by a decrnt margin, even if it doesn't top it due to low supply rather than low demand. 

From what we heard in VGC Sony didn't finish their design until August because the console was catching fire on manufacturing.

X1 didn't had problems tô manufacture, was sold out until Holiday and still was selling less than PS4 because Sony was probably more confident in the demand.
