I usually watch it with my eyes closed lol. That engine hum noise is the perfect sound to fall asleep with. (To get woken up by the end credits orchestra)
ST original series is kinda jarring in HD. It looks much more fake and the CGI in between scenes don't match the rest. The set design was never meant to be shown in that much detail.
