The Wii only needed ONE peripheral to dominate in sales, and that's the Wiimote. As soon as the Wii came out, it didn't stop selling out. That was before all the other peripherals came out. Therefore, you can't prove your assertion. Not only can't you prove it, but it seems to be false due to many things which have already been pointed out in the thread.
Did other peripherals help sales? Yes, everything helps. Did they drive sales more than games? Nothing seems to suggest so.
