I never had problems with bullies or mean people online. I've been called, well, bad things a couple of times in battlefield, but not because of lack of skills but because they thought I cheated (I'm really, really good at Battlefield).
On FF XIV, I was on a party of 4 in a duty mission. I was a Conjurer, but the party needed a White Mage for the aoe healing spells. We still won, but it took a greater effort because of my low level healing spells. My teammates pointed it out after the battle, but were really understanding and ecourage me to upgrade. FF XIV has one of the best online communities out there (I've heard the opposite of WoW).
