Franchise Titles That Don't Make Any Sense

Well in the first game his mission is to kill the God of War so the title makes sense. For the sequels he IS the God of War so those makes sense even if he is banished and falls out f favor with the rest of the Gods. He has declared war on the gods.

The reboot title does not make any sense without a subtitle. I hate that they just reused the original title for that game.

Actually he isn't the God of war in most of part 2 when he tries to travel back in time. Also once he drops to the underworld in God of War 3 he needs to drain Hades soul to use the hyperion gate. So for 95% of the game he isn't the God of war in GOW 3 either. After he drained Hades is soul he is a god though. But I doubt he is actually the God of war, more like the God of resurection.
