i dont... i want a music player Blu-ray and a game player all in one 400 dollar package... if you buy an ipod its like 200 bucks then blu-ray alone is 400 bucks. plus any computer is upwards of 600..... Why pay all that money when u can get it cheaper? If u get any of these things cheaper then the ps3 then call me, but as of now ps3 is a awesome choice. Face it some people LOVE spending money on these features and if everyone copied nintendo this would be a said gaming world. Nice thread and true in some sense but people like choices... thats why 360 has sold more games then wii and why ps3 sales are up 100%.... someone loves em.....

Your iPod example doesn't really make sense, the PS3 is not a light weight portable music player so comparing it to an iPod makes no sense, particularly when a PC, which is much more like the PS3 in terms of music playing functionality, is capable of playing music also and you've included its price as well.
You can get a Blu-Ray drive for your PC for $160 right now on Newegg, and a mid/low range card like an 8600 can play CoD4 on a higher resolution than the PS3 does and with better detail and AA settings (ask Naznatips this is the card he uses) with a solid frame rate as well.
A PC also has the advantage of being convenient for things like browsing the internet, school work, business applications, etc.... meaning it does more than just gaming. If you look at the cost of an entire PC then sure it costs more than a PS3 if you want the Blu-Ray player and all the bells and whistles. But in reality you are going to buy a PC anyways even if you buy a PS3 separate, so the real question is how much more would it cost to add those things to your PC? And the answer is less than the price of a PS3.
Plain and simple, the best reason to get a PS3 is if you want to play the exclusive games. There are some other good reasons to get a PS3 as well, don't get me wrong, but that is the best reason.
