The only real thing separating the two games in terms of genre and feel is the FPS vs TPS perspective shift and the individual story beats. They're both about human/earth space militaries fighting aliens with gameplay that pretty much exclusively consists of shooting the bad guys. Well I mean it's a very obvious and ridiculous effort to pigeon hole Sony's first party as being homogenous because more traditional means and avenues of criticism currently don't work.
