Imagine a $200 PS4 and $300 series S next to a $300 Switch. Nintendo needs to cut the price as well.

Why exclude the Switch Lite that's $200? Going into this holiday season Nintendo still has the cheapest system.

Doesn`t even compete. X1 have been defacto 199 for quite sometime and that didn`t had any impact on Switch. PS4 also had 199 promotions and Switch sales curve wasn`t noticeably impacted as well.

I feel like they never planned on dropping to 199 (becasue... inflation), but I think they planned to drop it to 249.. before pandemic hit and suddenly they were short on supply. and they certainly didn't want to ramp UP production this late into the ps4's life cycle.

They had multiple sales at 199, and when PS5 releases and XSS is there as well they won`t be able to sell base PS4 for 249.
