For me, I've stopped buying games full price at launch for about 3-4 years unless it's something I must have, like GOW or GoT.
Is difficult to do at the start of a generation when they're are less games out there, but a few years in you should be fine.
The second thing is sales have been amazing on storefronts for both Sony and MS, along with GWG & PS+.
Lastly, my taste in games has changed and I've ended up playing more games that consume hours in their SP or that are content rich. I've sunk 100+ hrs into p5, 70+hrs into Ys8, 400+hrs into MHW, I'm about 35+hrs into Nioh2....
When it comes to buying games this gen, it just means that I'll be more selective on what I spend me £60-70 and instead of buying 2 games at £50, I'm probably buy one at £60 and wait for the other to drop in price.
If a lot of people do this, I wonder how the industry will react. Even this gen, a lot of games didn't come out at a full £55-60, done eye released at £45-50. I can see this be the case a year or so in.
