Weekly update. Another record week, over 2 million new cases in the past week.

Worldwide there were 2.04 million cases reported (up from 1.87 million) bringing the total to 30.7 million.
Deaths were lower than last week thanks to a drop in South America, 36.8K (down from 40.8K) to a total of 956K, getting close to a million.

The USA saw a slight uptick last week, Europe is still outpacing the USA.

The continents

Asia towering ahead with 868.1K new cases last week (up from 832.0K) and 12,784 new deaths (up from 11,842)
South America following with 425.1K new cases last week (up from 387.5K) and 10,220 new deaths (down from 15,588)
North America reported 357.9K new cases last week (up from 318.4K) and 8,904 new deaths (down from 9,288)
Europe reported 340.7K new cases last week (up from 270.6K) and 3,535 new deaths (up from 2,502)
Africa sill declining, 52.1K new cases last week (down from 55.4K) and 1,267 new deaths (down from 1,505)
Oceania dropped off the chart again, 478 new cases last week (down from 749) and 42 new deaths (down from 63)

Corners of the world

India reported 648.1K new cases last week (up from 637.1K) and 8,119 new deaths (down from 8,937)
USA reported 289.7K new cases last week (up from 247.2K) and 5,750 new deaths (up from 5,310)
Brazil reported 213.5K new cases last week (up from 192.2K) and 5,383 new deaths (up from 4,890)

Iran is heading up slightly, Canada is rising more sharply.
South Africa, and Japan are staying around the same level.
South Korea and Australia are doing well, declining.

Europe in detail

Nothing good to see here. The Netherlands looks worrying, going up very fast and already exceeded their previous peak.
There doesn't seem to be anything stopping France either.
