I would whine too given how average the Bravely Default games are.

I think the BD games have a much more interesting battle system than all the turn-based FF games, which barely require any strategy to win (outside a few optional boss battles). Where the BD games utterly fail, at least when compared with the best FFs, is in terms of story and characters (also, the first BD game has some of the worst padding in any JRPG ever).
