Pricing on the consoles is very important in Amercia at the moment due to the recession, so i dont see people jumping over the PS3 in a way that would mean they dominate MS, unless they have a price drop, but i dont think they are that desperate at this time.
Then they have to counter MS push into the NON core market with maybe the Xmote type device. It would be inline with there position, as last year they tried with the Arcade pack. MS is targeting Nintentos market this christmas Nots Sonys.
Sony will be lucky to do 100K more than Microsoft for one week over the christmas period.
BTW, Just got back in my time machine, it seams the PS3 is a FAD
