These numbers literally reflect the numbers nvidia showed with their benchmarks. I don't know what you expected? We're seeing significant gains over the 2080. I do enjoy that 5 games that don't reflect your bias = irrelevant. And 2 games that do (even though they don't) are seen as "official". 

And if you sell at the right time you might break even and essentially get a free upgrade.

Before the Crypto Boom I had 2x Radeon RX 580's which I picked up for $350 AUD each.... And sold one for $800 AUD during the Crypto craze, it's all about the timing.

Yep. This happens every single time, if you have a GPU you want to upgrade from, and know new GPU's are coming out if you can sell your GPU a couple weeks before the announcement. 

Note: Obviously people who have a spare GPU can do this or if they have something they can play on in the meantime.
